Khamzat Chimaev Wants Robert Whittaker at Middleweight

Khamzat Chimaev Calls Out Robert Whittaker

Enigmatic Dagestani work-horse Khamzat Chimaev is rumoured to take on the UFC’s middleweight division in his next outing. His hype hasn’t died down, nor have his frequent callouts, once to reigning champ Alex Pereira, and now the division’s #2, Robert Whittaker. Following a post from Chimaev’s official Instagram.

Khamzat, still undefeated, rides the wave of a first round submission victory over Kevin Holland. Whittaker recently dispatched with Marvin Vettori. Both men are powerful wrestlers, and possess great striking capabilities too. It’s a clash of styles, as Chimaev bolsters his grueling wrestling approach with efficient striking, whilst Whittaker keeps the fight on the feet with his karate style, whilst backing up his abilities with his national championship wrestling credentials.

A victory by either man would surely secure a title shot against the winner of Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira 2 (in May).
