Wolverhampton’s Jai Herbert is thrown to the wolves yet again. ‘The Black Country Banger’ is set to face shining prospect Ilia ‘El Matador’ Topuria at UFC London this weekend. This fight is both intriguing and exciting, as both men are finishers. Herbert comes in with something to prove, and Topuria is looking to dominate and cement his place as a top dog of the featherweight division.

Jai Herbert vs Ilia Topuria Prediction
I have a god feeling that Topuria will implement some of his grappling into this fight. Herbert is a solid 6’1, with lanky arms and bricks for fists. His striking is cruel and effective, and he gives anybody trouble on the feet. In Herbert’s last defeat to Renato Moicano, he rocked Moicano with punches before being submitted; you can’t stand and trade with the Black Country Banger!
Topuria’s route to victory is his exceptional well roundedness, which involves his grappling. Herbert’s grappling stems from Renegade Jiu Jitsu and Fearless MMA in Birmingham, UK. Of course these are good gyms… by British standards, but they’re not world class. We can fully anticipate Topuria to use his stockier, stronger frame to control Herbert on the ground where we might see a submission.
My pick – Topuria by finish
