Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon started training Muay Thai at 7 years old, he made his professional Muay Thai debut at the age of 10. Now 25, he has carved a name for himself being one of the most violent and exciting Thai boxers on the ONE Championship roster.

For many young men in Thailand, earning money through Muay Thai is an arduous but viable way to support their families and claw their way out of adversity. Rodtang trained out of a small camp in his home town of Pattalung, before travelling to Jitmuangnon Camp in Bangkok, of which his fighting surname represents.

At the time of writing, Rodtang has amassed 322 muay thai fights, with 270 wins, 42 losses, and 10 draws. His ONE Championship record is 13 wins and 1 loss. That 1 loss coming at the hands of Demetrious Johnson in their mixed rules bout.

Has He Fought in MMA?

Rodtang has not fought in MMA, though his mixed rules super-fight with Demetrious Johnson did contain an MMA round. Since this super-fight, Rodtang has considered making a splash in MMA, but he’d like to achieve world champ status in ONE Championship kickboxing first.

Rodtang hasn’t expressed any interest in fighting in the UFC. As a part of ONE Championship, it’s more likely he’d debut in ONE mixed martial arts.

Who Has Rodtang Lost To?

Rodtang has 42 losses in his professional career, most recently losing to Kaonar P.K. Saenchai Muaythaigym in 2020, and before that, Rungkit Morbeskamala in 2018. Although exhibiting an iron chin, Rodtang has lost atleast once by knockout, with his record showing a KO by left elbow to Sangtien Sor.Sornsing in 2013.

Rodtang was defeated in a Muay Thai super fight to Superlek  Kiatmuu9 on September 9, 2022.

Rodtang’s Net Worth

As of 2023, Rodtang will be earning 4 million baht ($110k) a fight. His old purse was rumoured to be around 3 million baht. This most likely makes Rodtang the highest paid Thai fighter in history.
