UFC CEO Dana White has revealed three fights for the landmark UFC 300 fight card on April 13, 2024. White made the announcement on social media on December 22, he didn’t allude to where the fights sat on the card.
These matchups are as follows:
Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakic – UFC 300 Light Heavyweight Bout
Former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka returns from his KO loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 295. The Czech samurai will face Aleksandar Rakic, who is coming off of a TKO loss via injury to Jan Blachowicz earlier in 2023. This fight will likely be for title contention, with the winner securing a shot against Pereira — granted Pereira doesn’t also appear at UFC 300.
Aljamain Sterling vs. Calvin Kattar – UFC 300 Featherweight Bout
Former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling will move up to a new weight class, fighting the #7 ranked Calvin Kattar. “Funk Master” is looking to make a statement in a new weight division after his shock KO loss to Sean O’Malley at UFC 292. Kattar himself is on a two-fight losing streak and should be looking for a dominant performance to springboard himself into title contention.
Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage – UFC 300 Middleweight Bout
American wrestling standout Bo Nickal looks to make it 6-0 with a win against Cody Brundage. Brundage just snapped a 4* fight-losing streak with a spectacular slam KO of Zachary Reese in December 2023. It doesn’t look like interesting matchmaking, but there are rumors of Nickal being the first fight of the night, and Brundage possesses a mean guillotine choke which could mitigate some of Nickal’s wrestling.
*Brundage lost three in a row but won his fourth by DQ despite being battered
