Dustin Jacoby vs Michal Oleksiejczuk Prediction

A fantastic start to the card, two nasty kickboxers are going to duke it out, hopefully we’ll see a knockout. Dustin Jacoby is one fighter going under everybody’s radar. Jacoby has martial arts experience outside of MMA, having fought professionally in kickboxing and boxing. In kickboxing in particular, he went as far as to fight Alex Pereira in a losing effort, but it’s testament to his toughness and level of striking that he could hang with one of the best in the world.

Jacoby versus Alex Pereira

Jacoby is an intimidating figure at LHW, standing at 6’4. He’s on a 7 fight undefeated streak if you don’t count the draw with Ion Cutelaba, and he’s always game. If I remember correctly, he stepped in on short notice to face John Allan in his last fight, and completely dismantled the Brazilian for all 15 minutes. Does Michal Oleksiejczuk have what it takes to compete with this level of striking?

Oleksiejczuk (I’m going to call him Michal from now), is a pretty savage striker, first bursting into the UFC in 2017. Michal is 4-2-0(1NC) since debuting, with 3 of those wins coming by knockout. I remember his fight with Shamil Gamzatov, where he stormed the Russian and completely derailed his 14 fight win streak with a spectacular finish. It’s this ability to make any fight a dogfight that we should be looking out for this weekend. Michal might not be the better striker, but he might be the dirtier brawler. So how could this play out?

I think the biggest factor at play here is the height discrepancy. Jacoby stands a full 4 inches taller than Michal, and is visibly much lankier, with tree trunks for legs to boot. I’m quite certain the kickboxing pedigree of Jacoby is enough to give Michal’s brutal, but uneducated striking a run for its money. Jacoby’s patience, shot selection, and finishing instinct is underrated, and he’ll get the opportunity to showcase it this weekend.

My pick – Jacoby by UD
