Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal will have their rematch in 2024. The two MMA veterans are booked to square off in the boxing ring in March 2024, according to Happy Punch and Ariel Helwani on January 9.
According to Happy Punch, the UFC gave the “green light” for the fight, indicating Masvidal needed permission to fight whilst still under contract with the UFC. “Gamebred” retired after his defeat to Gilbert Burns in 2023, and only just claimed “unretired” in a Tweet on January 2. Diaz on the other hand, successfully fought out of his contract with the UFC when he submitted Tony Ferguson at UFC 297.
Diaz and Masvdal last fought each other at UFC 244 in 2019, with Masvidal winning via doctor’s stoppage. Their fight was the very first UFC ‘BMF’ title fight, and fans were displeased when the fight was stopped due to cuts. Masvidal and Diaz will have the chance to conclude their saga with this boxing match.
As for details, all we know so far is that it will be a boxing match in Las Vegas in March. Diaz last fought in a ten-round boxing match against Jake Paul, and Masvidal’s last boxing match was in 2005, a unanimous decision victory for the Miami native.
