UFC Fight Night: Burns vs. Brady is a deceptively underrated UFC Apex event.
Before fight fans can be spoiled with the UFC 306 ‘Noche’ Vegas Sphere event on September 14, we must return to the UFC Apex for a welterweight contender fight.
Perennial contender Gilbert Burns fights down in the rankings against grappling phenom Sean Brady, who rebounded from his first professional defeat with a submission over Kelvin Gastelum in December 2023. We could also see a passing of the torch in the women’s flyweight division as Jessica Andrade takes on the surging Natalia Silva, a spectacular prospect with exceptional Muay Thai skills.
Matt Schnell tests himself against flyweight finisher Alessandro Costa on the main card. Fan favorite Trevor Peek returns for an all-striking war with Yanal Ashmouz. Standouts on the prelims include promising grappler Isaac Dulgarian, Felipe Santos taking on the undefeated André Lima, and the rebooking of Nathan Fletcher vs. Zygimantas Ramaska.
As with all Apex cards, we do have some dicey matchups. For one, the featured prelim between Ovince St. Preux and Ryan Spann should be a weird fight with both fighters on the decline.
