UFC News: Fighter Disqualified After Biting Opponent & Drawing Blood VIDEO

In his UFC debut, DWCS alum Igor Severino was disqualified for biting his opponent, Andre Lima.

Severino and Lima, both undefeated, put on a show in the second fight of the night, and Severino seemed to be on the way to winning the second round before Lima exclaimed to referee Chris Tognoni during a grappling exchange.

Much to the bemusement of the UFC staff, Tognoni halted the fight and consulted the ringside officials. Lima accused Severino of biting him, and the fight replay didn’t sufficiently show any good angles of the alleged foul. This was until Tognoni ruled the fight a disqualification in favor of Lima, and in-cage cameras showed a gruesome bite wound on the underarm of Lima — Severino had even drawn blood.

It was an unfortunate ending to an otherwise entertaining fight, and Lima’s UFC debut has been marred by the dirty foul. Severino will probably be disciplined, if not ejected from the UFC altogether. We can expect Lima to get some favorable matchmaking or placement on a fight card in the future to make up for the unjust actions.
