UFC 300 Results: Kayla Harrison Steamrolls Holly Holm in UFC Debut

Kayla Harrison is a problem at UFC bantamweight.

The former PFL tournament winner debuted at UFC 300, taking on former bantamweight champion and #5-ranked fighter Holly Holm. Harrison applied the pressure early, pinning Holm against the cage and throwing her adversary to the ground.

Harrison’s grappling pedigree shone through as she pummeled Holm with thudding ground and pound, easily stealing a 10-8 first round with a strike differential of 46:0.

Holm looked to keep her distance in the second round, but it wasn’t enough as Harrison tossed her to the ground again, this time securing Holm’s back. ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ tried to buck her opponent off, but found herself in a tight rear-naked choke, signalling the end of the fight.

Harrison made the most of her post-fight interview by highlighting her championship intentions. The UFC seems keen on a Harrison title run, so we’ll likely see her booked against a top-five talent in her next appearance — if not against the champion Raquel Pennington.
